Our Golf Staff

Tim is originally from Philadelphia where he grew up around golf. His father, Buzz Garvin was the Head Professional at Philmont Country Club PA, Overbrook Golf Club PA, and the Director of Golf at The Club at Admirals Cove. Tim was the assistant professional at Lost Tree Club in North Palm Beach, FL before becoming the Head Professional at Southampton Golf Club in the summer and the Head Professional at Admirals Cove Golf Village in Jupiter FL., in the winter months. He has accumulated over 500 credit hours of education in the last 15 years and has traveled to over 12 countries to play golf with the membership. In 2005, Tim qualified for the second stage of the United States Open and is a competitive member in all sectional and regional events. In 2022, Tim was named the year’s Bill Strausbaugh Award winner for the PGA. He resides in Southampton with his wife Katie, daughter Paige, and son James. He has been a PGA member since 1996.

Steven is a Long Island native, originally from Port Jefferson and where he spends much of his time in the off-season. Taking up golf after high school, his love for the game was immediate. During his first couple years at South Fork, he was enrolled in the PGA Apprentice Program. Through the help of South Fork’s Educational Fund and Director of Golf, Tim Garvin, Steven earned his PGA Membership in July 2019. Steven has been a Member of the South Fork team for 11 years now and is an excellent teacher in all aspects of the game.

Michael Wagner is an outgoing and experienced golf professional originally from sunny Sarasota, Florida. Michael has been in the golf industry for about 15 years and has worked at some of the top clubs in the nation including Sebonack Golf Club and Medalist Golf Club. During Michael’s free time you are likely to find him planning his next trip to Europe. Michael never ceases to have a good time when he’s doing what he loves on the golf course and is sure to make you enjoy your time as well. This is Michael's second season at South Fork.

Cameron has been playing golf since he was 13 years old. From Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, he is a recent graduate of Coastal Carolina University. Part of South Fork's team last season as a PGA Intern, Cameron returns for a second season at South Fork as an Assistant Golf Professional.

Kayla Thompson, from Saint Augustine, Florida, is a driven individual with a passion for both golf and business. As the oldest of six siblings, she learned the values of leadership and responsibility early on. Introduced to the game of golf by her father at the age of 7, Kayla discovered her love for the sport through the nurturing environment of The First Tee program. In the fall she will have graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business from Saint Johns River State College, she aims to combine her business acumen with her love for golf to inspire the next generation of players. She is determined to share her passion and knowledge with all ages, fostering their love for the game just as she found hers. Outside of the golf course, Kayla finds solace in gardening, cooking, and the serenity of exploring the great outdoors.

Suzanne has been with South Fork CC since 2017. She has had careers in both apparel buying and broadcasting, and during her 'off season' months, still consults for radio stations and does voiceover work. She is an avid golfer and looks forward to helping you with anything you need in the Golf Shop!

Bill Bresnan has been a staple as the starter at South Fork Country Club. Bill is an avid golfer who lives in Montauk. Bill's son is the Head Women's Golf Coach at Adelphi University on Long Island. Bill is the longest standing golf employee and does an amazing job getting groups out and pairing people that need games.
